TuneTracker™ QuickTip

Quickly unmounting multiple volumes

If your TuneTracker System computer has a bunch of hard drive volumes, all mounted, and you only need the boot volume mounted, it can be beneficial to unmount the unneeded volumes. Doing so can speed the system up a little, and assure your Lightning and desktop searches don’t bring up audio files from drive volumes you don’t want to include in the queries.

You can unmount each of them, one-at-a-time, but here’s a quicker way.

  1. 1. On your Desktop, or in Disks, select all the drives other than your main boot volume (you can tell which one you’re booted to, because there’s a little symbol in the corner of its icon.
  2. 2. Right-click on any of the selected icons, and choose Unmount.
Poof! All but your boot volume will be instantly unmounted.
