BeShare: The Gift that Keeps on Giving
After a few seconds, you'll see activity in the main text window as it logs in. Shortly thereafter, you can begin to chat with people. BeShare is very simple to use, but if you have questions, you can ask right there! Get these all the time! Write to us and we'll add you to our weekly e-mail tiplist.
Our routine tips help with specific questions, but what about those spontaneous questions that pop up on the spur of the moment?
If they're Haiku®-related questions, and you haven't gotten BeShare yet, you REALLY ought to get it! BeShare is a combination chat client and peer-to-peer filesharing program that runs under Haiku®, but it's much more than that. It's also a whole culture of Haiku® users, many of whom are deeply experienced and able to help with lots of questions related to Haiku®, and Haiku®-related issues.
If your TuneTracker computer is able to access the Internet, download this file:
http://www.bebits.com/bob/15901/BeShare2.23.zip
When downloaded, double-click on it and unzip it to the destination:
/boot/apps/
Afterward, run the program by double-clicking on the little red flowerpot icon that says BeShare x86.
The Haiku® community is one of the nicest around. People go out of their way to help. Take advantage of it! Later, as you learn more, you can even start to help others in there.
BeShare will remember its settings, so in the future, you can log in by just launching it and selecting connect from the File pulldown menu. You might want to just leave BeShare running all the time. It's like having an "instant oracle" sitting there ready to answer your questions.
Remember that BeShare also allows file sharing, so it can be useful when dealing with others who want to help you, as well as when dealing with us at TuneTracker Systems. TuneTracker Systems frequently monitors that room so watch for "TuneTracker."
