Preserving Attributes by Using FTP
Get these all the time! Write to us and we'll add you to our weekly e-mail tiplist.
Scenario: If you produce a new weather report and bring a copy of it over on a disk and drop it into your Haiku® machine, directly replacing the previous file with the same file attributes. It will still play alright, but if you ever needed to do a search for it in TuneStacker by file attributes other than filename, TuneStacker will not find it.
Solution: Transfer via FTP! If you record your updated weather report on another computer, use an FTP client to send your file to the Haiku® machine, overwriting the previous file without touching its attributes.
