TuneTracker QuickTip
Rotating by Day
When you generate the logs in TuneStacker, it will happily place your features exactly as you want them. Why does Rotate work, when there's only one file that meets its criteria? Because if only one file has the Comment that's specified in the Rotate line, TuneStacker is smart enough to re-use it over and over, each time that rotation is called for. Get these all the time! Write to us and we'll add you to our weekly e-mail tiplist.
The TuneTracker System's powerful "Rotate" command lets you smoothly rotate through a series of audio files that all have something in common, such as having the same label in the "Comment" field. But what if you want to rotate by day? Read on...
Scenario: You have five short three-minute Christmas features called "The Traditions of Christmas" that you want to run, on the days leading up to Christmas. Each feature must run multiple times during the day it is assigned to. And you don't want to have to manually specify the file and pathname of each entry on your log.
Rotate Comment MondayTraditions
It doesn't take much imagination to see how useful this is, year-round. One of our Christian stations wants to be able to present the same sermonette, several times in a day, then, move to another one the next day, and so on. They want to do something similar with a scripture verse of the day. Simple! Just add lines like Rotate Comment MonVerse to the Monday master log, Rotate Comment TueVerse to the Tuesday master log, etc. Then, on a weekly basis, take a moment to mark the comment field of the files you want to use on each of those days for the coming week. It literally takes only a few seconds. Then, generate your program logs in TuneStacker, and you're all set.
The solution mentioned above assumes you're not generating program logs more than a week ahead of time, of course. If you need to do more than that, you'll need additional master logs and a fancier naming scheme, but it can still be done.
